What we collect, who it goes to, how long we hold it, and how to get it removed. In plain English.
Who we are
NY Solar Finder is a trading name of RBR Growth Consulting, which operates this website and is responsible for the information collected through it.
Post: Address to be confirmed. Email: info@nysolarfinder.com. You can use that address for any question about your information. You do not have to submit an enquiry form to reach us.
What we collect
When you submit the enquiry form we collect what you type into it: your name, phone number, email address and property address. These five are required because an installer cannot arrange a site visit without them.
Everything behind the optional section is exactly that. Property type, electricity usage, roof type, ownership status, what you are interested in and any notes you add. Leaving them blank does not stop you using the service, it only means the installer arrives with less context.
We also record which version of our consent wording you agreed to, the page you submitted from, and the time you submitted. That record exists so that both of us can establish later what you actually agreed to.
Separately, standard technical information is collected automatically: pages visited, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site.
Who receives it
RBR Growth Consulting provides your enquiry to no more than one independent solar installer, so that they can arrange the consultation you asked for. There is no other recipient of your enquiry.
Once that installer receives your details they are independently responsible for them, and their own privacy policy governs what they do next. Ask them for it if you want to see it.
We do not place your details into a lead marketplace, and we do not send them to multiple installers. We are paid a referral fee by the installer, which is explained in full in our affiliate disclosure, but your information is not sold as a record to anybody.
Service providers we use
These companies process information on our behalf, under their own privacy terms:

Where call tracking is in use, the telephone number displayed on the site may be swapped for a tracking number so we can tell which pages generate calls. This records the calling number and the duration of the call. If a call is recorded you will be told at the start of it.
Cookies
This site uses cookies for analytics and call attribution. You can block or delete them in your browser settings, and the site will still work. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles.
Fonts and all other assets are served from this website rather than a third party, so simply reading a page does not disclose your visit to anyone else.
How long we keep it

At the end of those periods the information is deleted. If you ask us to delete it sooner we will, subject to any legal obligation to retain it.
How we protect it
Information is transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored in access-controlled systems. Access is limited to the people who need it to run the referral. We do not put enquiry details into email subject lines, analytics events, page URLs or browser storage.
No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you promptly if something happens to yours.
Your choices
- Ask what information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct it
- Ask us to delete it, subject to any legal retention obligation
- Ask us not to refer your enquiry after you have submitted it, if we have not already done so
- Opt out of marketing from us at any time
- Decline every optional field and still use the service
Email info@nysolarfinder.com to exercise any of these. We may need to ask a question to confirm the request is genuinely yours before we act on it, and we aim to respond within 30 days.
If an installer has already received your details, ask them directly as well. We can tell you who they are and when they received it.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, email info@nysolarfinder.com and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top reflects the current version, and we keep superseded versions so that a past consent record can always be matched to the wording that was live at the time.
